Road closure in Aurora
Starting Thursday, Spring Street will be closed between Lincoln Avenue and Broadway for three to four weeks for storm and sanitary sewer improvement work. The bike path along the east bank of the Fox River at Spring Street also will be closed for about two weeks. Detour routes will be posted at both locations. The timelines for the closures are an approximation because the work is weather dependent. For more information call (630) 264-INFO.
Aurora Avenue work ongoing
Work to resurface Aurora Avenue in Naperville between Washington Street and Ogden Avenue has begun and will continue through July 30. Grinding work on the street has already begun. It is anticipated that paving work will begin today. The work will require lane closures on Aurora Avenue for multiple days. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. Traffic control signs and barricades will be located in the construction area to guide the flow of traffic. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time to reach their destination and utilize alternate routes if possible. All work is weather dependent.
