Scouting Leyden @ Addison Trail

Leyden (6-2, 4-1) at Addison Trail (3-5, 3-2)

When 7:30 p.m. today

Last week Leyden d. Lyons 14-10; Addison Trail lost to Downers Grove South 40-0

Outlook Even though Leyden is in the playoffs for the second time in three years there is still a lot to play for such as second place alone in the Gold behind Downers Grove South and something even more important for next week. "I told the kids we're playing for a home game and that's something we haven't done around here for 11 years," said Leyden coach Tom Cerasani. "We can't overlook these guys and have to make sure we take care of business." Especially since it should be an emotional night in the final game for retiring AT head coach Paul Parpet. But the senior-led Eagles of RB Angel Maldonado (1,683 yards, 18 TDs), QB David Rose (893 yards, 6 TDs), WR Adam Bielech (28 rec., 443 yards, 3 TDs), TE-DE Dan Kiebler and DE Jeff Cascella have shown Cerasani something different in the last two weeks of their five-game winning streak. "I felt like our kids have the confidence now, even if they're down or the game is tight, they believe they're still going to win," Cerasani said of comeback's to end long losing streaks to Proviso East and Leyden. "It's not like the teams of the past eight or nine years at Leyden. We would have found a way to lose."
