St. Edward advances in regional
The St. Ewdard boys soccer team, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class 1A Westminster Christian regional Monday with a 7-0 win over North Boone.
The No. 7 seed Green Wave (5-15) wasted no time in dominating Monday' s match.
Alex Ptak led the offensive attack for the Green Wave recording a hat trick and 2 assists. David Smith and Logan Johnson added 1 goal and 1 assist apiece. Kevin Dodgen and Hector Alvarez added the Green Wave's other 2 goals while Mark Olenek registered 3 assists. Jim Cholewa preserved the shutout in goal with 4 saves.
St. Edward will play at host and No. 2 seed Westminster Christian in a semifinal matchup today at 4 p.m.
