Hampshire 60, Minooka 32: The Whip-Purs doubled up the Indians 30-15 through one half en route to a trouble-free win in the Oswego tournament. Alex Dumoulin scored 17 points while Jessie Van Dorin and Karla Vietinghoff each finished with 12 points for undefeated Hampshire (12-0), which will face Neuqua Valley in Saturday's tournament championship game.
Dundee-Crown 62, Elgin 25: The Dundee-Crown girls basketball team looked tournament ready in a convincing 62-25 nonconference victory over visiting Elgin Thursday. In the final tuneup before their annual holiday tournament, the Chargers won their fourth game in six outings, backed by 16 points from junior Diamond Williams and 10 points from junior Carlin Faulkner, who splashed three 3-pointers. Elgin (0-10) couldn't muster a challenge after falling behind 23-2 after one quarter. Junior forward Briana Hamilton led the Maroons with 13 points.
Streamwood 54, Addison Trail 38: The unblemished Sabres (12-0) remained perfect, thanks to 13 points and 6 steals from sophomore Jessica Cerda, 13 points and 12 rebounds by senior Emma Schmidt and 10 points and 10 rebounds from senior center Michelle Tomczak. The Sabres face undefeated Libertyville Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Mundelein tournament.
South Elgin 46, East Aurora 43: Freshman guard Savanah Uveges scored 19 points and junior guard Becca Smith added 11 points to pace South Elgin (3-7, 1-3) to its first victory in the Valley Division of the Upstate Eight Conference.
Rosary 62, Larkin 33: Tori Patterson scored 10 points, Abigail Alvarez finished with 7 points and Maggie Hofmann contributed 6 points, but it wasn't enough for the Royals (2-10) in a nonconference game in Elgin.
Aurora Central Catholic, 49, Elgin Academy: Caitlin Ward had 8 points and Ashley Barnes scored 7 for the Hilltoppers (0-6) in a nonconference loss in Aurora.
