Hampshire splits: The Whip-Purs (6-15) defeated Aurora Christian 14-3 before taking a 6-5 loss in Game 2 of nonconference doubleheader action Saturday. Mary Bruscato led the offensive attack with 4 hits, 3 doubles and a triple. Jennifer Hurst finished with 3 hits and the win, pitching 5 innings. In Game 2, Grace Jakubowski and Kendall Walker each finished with 3 hits. Kaitlyn Bruscato (3-7) was in the circle for the loss.

Lake Zurich 13, Jacobs 3: The Golden Eagles (11-7) suffered a nonconference loss to Lake Zurich Saturday. Kelsey Peterson had a double and 3 RBI to lead Jacobs. Amber Livingston (3-4) was in the circle for the loss with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.

Streamwood at BG Slugfest: The Sabres (5-17) went 0-3 while competing in the Buffalo Grove Slugfest Tournament, losing to Warren in a close game 7-5, Buffalo Grove 11-0, and Vernon Hills 10-0.
