Jacobs club tops regional contestThe Jacobs High School Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering team won first place in the recent regional competition. The WYSE program pits teams of students against each other in a number of scientific disciplines. The Jacobs team competed at the sectional contest (one step up from regionals) earlier this month, placing fourth out of eight teams. Jason Cha came in second in Biology, Erik Hanson came in third in Physics, Evan Schramm placed fourth in Biology and Siobhan Odendaal placed fourth in Chemistry. Jason and Evan will compete in the state competition at the University of Illinois on April 22.Fish fry in LITHThe Lake in the Hills American Legion Post 1231 is holding a fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 2. The all-you-can-eat meal costs $9.95 for adults and $6.95 for children younger than 12. I is open to the public and includes dollar draughts. The vaccine is not recommended for pregnant women, and the health department recommends you consult with your doctor before getting vaccinated.
