Uhler powers Libertyville past Deerfield

Chad Uhler belted a 3-run home run, as Libertyville's baseball team improved to 3-0 with a 7-2 win over host Deerfield on Wednesday.

Uhler, Tyler Schweigert and Joey Eichmann each went 2-for-4, while Brandon Fowkes had a single, walk, stolen base and run scored.

Wauconda 13, Marengo 0: Kyle Mitchell homered for the Bulldogs.

Wauconda (1-1) also got doubles from Dan Tanzillo and Jeremy Wagner. Erick Maki earned the win, striking out seven over 4 innings.

Lakes 10, Belvidere North 0: Travis Vanderwall pitched 3 innings of 1-hit ball, striking out four in earning the win.

Lakes (2-0) was led offensively by senior Andrew Tubek (2-for-2, double, stolen base), senior Ryan Noon (2-for-2, 3 runs, 4 RBI, double) and sophomore Nick Traska (2-for-2, 2 RBI).
