Craft show canceled:McHenry County College has canceled the MCC Softball Team's Fundraiser Craft Show scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28. The event is canceled due to a smaller than expected response to date from crafters for booth spaces and other logistical reasons.District 3 hosts kindergarten registration: Fox River Grove Elementary District 3 is hosting registration and screenings for kindergartners on March 8 and March 10 at Algonquin Road School, 975 Algonquin Road. Preschool screenings will also be held on the afternoon of March 10 at the same school. Your child must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2010, to register for kindergarten for the 2010-11 school year. Bring your child's original birth certificate as proof. If you're registering your child for the first time in the district, you must also bring four proofs of residency, including one of the following: your most recent property tax bill, mortgage papers or a signed and dated lease. Registration costs $130. You must make an appointment for a screening. Call (847) 516-5101.School hosts bingo night:Hampshire Elementary School is hosting its annual Family Bingo Night, a fundraiser for the school. Prizes include a flat-screen TV, iTouch, GPS system and Nintendo DSi. The event also features refreshments for sale, a raffle and an opportunity to meet Chicago Slaughter players. Bingo night starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, at Hampshire Middle School, 560 S. State St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Call (847) 792-3400.
