Drop your kids off for Winter Nature Night in Crystal Lake

Parents, if you need need a little time for some last minute shopping or are looking for an evening of winter fun for your children, send the kids to McHenry County Conservation District for a Winter Nature Night drop-in program. The program is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road, Crystal Lake.

This open house style program is designed to provide a wide variety of fun and educational activities for a wide range of ages. Children may drop in for all or any part of the evening. However, registration is required. There will be games, crafts, a movie and a nature reading area set up. We’ll also go out on a winter night hike at 7 p.m. Dress for the weather with appropriate footwear to participate. Fee is $3 for county residents and $3.75 for nonresidents. Program is for youth ages 7 to 13. Preregistration is required.
