Marian Central presents comedy classic 'Harvey'

Marian Central Catholic High School will produce “Harvey” by Mary Chase as its fall play for the 2011-12 school year. The lighthearted comedy centers on good-natured Elwood P. Dowd who has a rather peculiar best friend — a 6-foot invisible rabbit named Harvey. Harvey and Elwood go everywhere and meet everyone together, much to the distress of his sister, Veta, who is doing her best to launch her daughter Myrtle into society. While trying to have Elwood committed at a local sanitarium, Veta is the victim of a bit of a madcap mix-up and … well, you'll just have to come see the show to see if Harvey manages to hop away from yet another mess he's created for the Dowd family.

Performances of “Harvey” at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the school, 1001 McHenry Ave., Woodstock. Tickets are available at the door for $8 for adults and $4 for seniors and students.
