Why isn’t there boys bowling in D211?

I am writing this letter to your paper regarding High School District 211 not having a boys bowling team. I am a senior at James B. Conant High School, and I have been bowling since I was 10.

I myself find it extremely unfair that girls are allowed to have a bowling team and us men are not. If girls are allowed to, why can’t boys?

Just last year, District 211 introduced a girls lacrosse team. Lacrosse used to be just a boys sport, but now the girls have a team so it evens out the playing field.

If girls can play lacrosse, boys should be able to have a bowling team. Many of the sports for D211 are played by both genders. There is, however, no girls wrestling team and no girls football team.

I’m not sure why there is no boys bowling team, but it might be because the boys have a football and a wrestling team. Why doesn’t the district just make a girls wrestling team and a girls football team? If this was the case, there would be no debate.

District 211 could just make all the sports for both genders so students wouldn’t feel like any of their talents are going to waste. I absolutely love to bowl, and it frustrates me that all of my high school career, I was not able to use my talent toward my high school!

It would be in the best interest of District 211 to start a boys bowling team. It’s not like it would hurt anybody.
