Warren tops Bogan for first victory

Alyssa Phillips scored 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting and grabbed 5 rebounds, leading Warren’s girls basketball team to its first win of the season, 49-38 over Bogan at Loyola on Friday.

Lexi Leneau added 10 points, 6 assists and 2 steals for Warren (1-1). Jessica Prince had 9 points and 6 rebounds, while Amanda Barger and Cassie Christie (two 3-pointers) chipped in 6 points apiece.

The Blue Devils trailed 9-8 after one quarter, before outscoring the Bengals 16-6 in the second quarter. Warren led 38-22 after three.

Genoa-Kingston 36, Round Lake 26: At Harvard, the Panthers suffered their first loss after opening the season the night before with a 36-28 win over Harvard behind Aaliyah Chastang’s 15 points and Adriana Pitts’ 14.

Against Genoa-Kingston, Pitts and Bianca Mahoney scored 6 and 5 points, respectively, for Round Lake.

The Panthers play twice today at Harvard, facing Rockford East at noon and Crystal Lake Central at 3 p.m.

Marian Central 41, Wauconda 30: At Marian Central, the Bulldogs suffered their first loss.

Diana Enriquez had 11 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals for Wauconda (2-1).

Rolling Meadows 71, Lakes 51: At Fremd, the Eagles dropped to 0-2, despite Ashlee Cunningham’s 12 points and Sam Ney’s 10.
