St. Edward’s Holevas wins SCC title
St. Edward senior Michael Holevas was the individual champion of the Suburban Christian Conference boys golf tournament, which was played at St. Andrews on Friday and Saturday.
Holevas shot a two-day total of 151, carding a 77 on Friday and a 74 on Saturday. He was 2 shots behind leader Jack Anderson of Wheaton Academy after the first round but made up the distance on Saturday.
Luke Waggoner of Marian Central finished second with a 154, and Anderson had a 155.
Wheaton Academy won the team championship with a 653. Marian Central was second at 657 and St. Francis third at 663.
Mike Butzow of St. Edward also qualified for the second round and shot a pair of 89s in the tournament.
