Palatine High School hosts 'No Excuses University'

Palatine High School recently hosted its second annual “No Excuses University” pep assembly for District 15 elementary students from Virginia Lake, Jane Addams, Winston, Lincoln, Lake Louise, and Sanborn schools.

Students from the elementary schools came to the high school Friday, Sept. 23, for performances by the school's band, poms, flags, and cheerleaders, as well as student speakers in the stadium.

“No Excuses University” is a network of elementary, middle and junior high schools across the country, actively promoting a comprehensive model of college readiness.

It is designed to get elementary schoolchildren to think about the next level of their academic career in high school and, ultimately, college.

Each elementary school classroom participating in the program adopts a university/college and there are activities planned throughout the school year with their college's theme.
