Libertyville/Crystal Lake oncology practice receives quality designation

North Shore Oncology Hematology Associates, with offices in Libertyville and Crystal Lake has achieved the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) designation this month. The certification is granted by the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

The goal of the QOPI is to promote excellence in cancer care by helping practices create a culture of self-examination and improvement. The process employed for improving cancer care includes measurement, feedback and improvement tools for hematology-oncology practices, according to the Alexandria, Virginia-based, American Society of Clinical Oncology. North Shore is the only practice in the Chicago metro area to achieve this status, the ASCO said.

The physicians and staff at North Shore Oncology are highly skilled professionals dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer and blood diseases.

Their physicians are trained in oncology, the study and treatment of cancer and other malignant conditions and hematology, the study of blood diseases. North Shore Board Certified Physicians include Michael K. Cochran, M.D., David J. Slivnick, M.D., Dean G. Tsarwhas, M.D., Michael B. Soble, M.D., Thomas Weyburn, D.O., Jerry Liu, M.D., Ph.D., Syed Ahmed, M.D., Ph.D., and Elizabeth Chung, M.D.

The doctors are affiliated with Advocate Condell Medical Center, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital among others in Lake County and McHenry Counties. In addition to Libertyville, North Shore Oncology has offices in Crystal Lake.
