Three charged in Wood Dale armed robbery
Two men and one woman are charged with the armed robbery of a pizza driver this month in Wood Dale.
Charged with aggravated robbery are James R. Thonn, 21, of 6N600 Gary Ave., Roselle; Kaitlyn Grundy, 19, of 294 Station Drive, Wood Dale; and Evan J. Gahan, 20, of 1270 Pine Valley Drive, Schaumburg, authorities said.
The crime is a Class 1 felony and a conviction could mean up to 15 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
Wood Dale police said their investigation revealed the three suspects ordered a pizza to a Wood Dale townhouse, but no one was home to take the delivery when it arrived around 9:45 p.m. June 4. As the driver returned to his car, the three approached him and one appeared to be armed with handgun. The trio took his money, but the driver wasn’t injured, officials said.
Deputy Chief Greg Vesta said the weapon was later recovered and revealed to be a pellet gun.
Detectives found the weapon and the suspects after conducting interviews and neighborhood canvasses, which led to the arrests over several days last week.
Thonn and Grundy are being held in DuPage County jail and a judge set their respective bails at $150,000 and $100,000. They must pay 10 percent to be released. Gahan’s bail was set at $20,000 and he posted the required 10 percent to be released.
All three are awaiting trail.
