Naperville Central 3, Stevenson 2: In a rematch of last season#146;s Class 4A state semifinals, the Redhawks (5-4) handed Stevenson (6-1) its first loss. Ross Murphy, who went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, singled home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Jake DeVoy won in relief of starter Jimmy Nashert, who pitched into the sixth inning.Timothy Christian 6, Lisle 2:Jon Penczak blasted a first-inning grand slam and added a 2-run single in the fifth inning as the Trojans (3-2) topped the Lions (9-3). Troy Ellens (2-0) picked up the win on the mound. Ryan Van Volkenburg went 2-for-3 for Lisle.New Trier 3, Benet 2:Benet (5-4) rallied with 2 runs in the top of the seventh, but the Trevians held on for the win. Andrew Jachna and Kevin Jendra drove in the Redwings#146; runs. Hinsdale Central 5-6, York 2-1:The Red Devils swept the West Suburban Silver Conference road doubleheader behind strong pitching performances starting with Chris Bobo#146;s 5-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Pat Foley drove in 2 runs in the opener.
