15 arrested at underage drinking party

Fifteen people were arrested at a party hosted by a 22-year-old McHenry man after police found a large amount of alcohol at the residence and underage attendees drinking, authorities said.

McHenry County sheriff’s deputies responded to a loud party complaint on the 2700 block of Old Oak Road near the city of McHenry and discovered a party with about 40 people about 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

Four 16-year-olds, two 17-year-olds and eight others ages 18 to 20 were arrested and charged with unlawful consumption by a minor, according to the sheriff’s office.

The host, 22-year-old Marcos Barron, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to authorities.

Police said a large number of people tried to run from the residence while others tried to hide inside when deputies arrived.
