Wauconda 57, Woodstock North 40: Kyle Ryan poured in a season-high 23 points, connecting on five 3-pointers, as the Bulldogs improved to 2-1 in Marengo's holiday tournament.

Matt Mead added 13 points for Wauconda (2-10), which jumped out to a 21-11 lead after one quarter.

Glenbard East 74, Grayslake Central 59: At Normal Community West, the Rams lost their opening game in the State Farm Holiday Classic, despite 22 points from Jordan Taylor.

Casey Boyle added 10 for Grayslake Central (2-6), which plays North Chicago at 9:30 a.m. today at Illinois Wesleyan University's Shirk Center.

Mt. Carmel 63, Lake Zurich 42: Mirko Grcic scored 9 points, all in the first quarter, and grabbed 7 rebounds for the Bears in their opening game of the Pekin Insurance Holiday Tournament.

Mike Boyd had 8 points for Lake Zurich (2-8), while Drake Orser added 7 points and 8 rebounds.

Lake Zurich led 13-7 with a minute left in the first quarter when Mt. Carmel's Tracy Abrams (16 points) hit back-to-back 3-pointers.

The Bears trailed 22-20 at half. Fifteen second-half turnovers led to transition baskets for Mt. Carmel and a 43-29 lead after three quarters.
