NW Crushers fall league champs
The U12 Northwest Crushers Boys Travel Baseball Team won the Drive Performance Fall Baseball League Championship in Wheeling on Sunday Oct. 23.
Competing against various teams from the Northwest suburbs, the Crushers had 10-0 fall baseball season. For the final two games of the playoff tournament, the Crushers did not give up a run, including in the championship game, with shutout score victories of 10-0 and 4-0.
The Crushers were led by outstanding hitting performances from Zach Plesnicar, Joe Kranz, Jeff Korus and Lucas Kinsey. Solid pitching from Ryan Dowd, Richie Baczek, Collin Heidner and Jeff Korus helped the Crushers for the season and with advancing in the tournament.
The Crushers defense was exceptional. Also contributing with some timely defense and strategic offensive plays were Garrett Kolderup, Dylan Schoknecht, Joey Plizga, Mack Malczewski, Timmy Zerfass and Cole Wasowicz.
The Northwest Crushers play a competitive schedule in the Mid-Suburban Baseball League.
