Elgin Hall of Fame announces scholarship winners

The Elgin Sports Hall of Fame Foundation has presented $1,000 scholarships to student-athletes who live in and/or attend high school in Elgin. Since the inception of the scholarship program, the foundation has now awarded over $255,000 in scholarships to student-athletes in the Elgin area.

This year's recipients are:

Alyssa Pena of Elgin Academy;

Alexandra Haugan, Abbey Houde, Adam Kuforiji, Danielle Lawry, Ricardo Mancha, Nikil Satish and Jeremy Vanderpluym of Elgin High;

Meaghan Gard, Camilo Iribarren, Kelsey Lodge, Analila Medina, Ryan Smith and Alex Wahl of Larkin;

David Hoebbel, Danielle Coffman, Daniel Duffy, Kristi Knott, Jack Cholewa and Jordan Alec Torres of St. Edward;

Ryan Hicks of South Elgin;

And, Ryan Beachler, Benjamin Corani, Sarah Rodgers and Tanya Rogers of Westminster Christian.
