Scouting Antioch at Wauconda

Antioch (2-0) at Wauconda (1-1)

When: 7:30 p.m. today

Last week: Antioch d. Waukegan, 25-14; Wauconda lost to Stillman Valley, 46-20.

Skinny: The schedule doesn't let up for Wauconda, which faced the defending Class 3A champs last week, after opening with an always tough Huntley team on Opening Night. Wauconda QB Brian Kent has piled up big numbers through two weeks, having passed for 458 yards (27-of-45 passing) and 6 touchdowns and having rushed for 257 yards and 2 scores. He tossed 3 TD passes to WR Jake Ziolkowski last Friday night, but also was intercepted twice. Receivers Brandon Dorsey and Ziolkowski have 10 and 8 receptions, respectively. ... Wauconda's defense will be tested by Antioch's option attack that should get a boost tonight from RB Josh Guadarrama, an all-conference pick last year who missed the first two weeks of this season. Antioch has been led by Dan Arden (234 rushing yards), Sam Green (176 yds.) and Vinnie Holm (164 yds.). QB Tom Sears has completed 9 of 17 passes for 145 yards. ... Sequoits junior strong safety George Gonzalez had a big game last week against Waukegan, scooping a fumble and scoring and intercepting a pass.
