Man still in critical after Monday night crash

A 28-year-old man remains in critical condition after a two-vehicle car crash Monday evening in Oakwood Hills.

Dennis Marr was among five people involved in the crash, which took place at approximately 7 p.m. on Rawson Bridge Road between Brittany Drive and Del Miller Lane, Oakwood Hills Police Department Sgt. Peter Goldman confirmed. Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital spokeswoman Ro Ostergaard said Marr was in critical condition Tuesday night.

Four people were taken to the hospital, and one person declined medical treatment at the scene, Goldman said. He declined to give further details, citing an ongoing investigation.

Slippery road conditions seem to have been a factor in the accident, said Cary Fire Protection District Lt. Andy Veath.

One of the two vehicles lost control and hit the oncoming vehicle on the rear driver’s side, he said.

Three ambulances from the Cary Fire Protection District and one from the Wauconda Fire District responded to the crash, Veath said.

Three others involved in the crash were David Marr, 57, Michael Nelson, 27, and Allison Borchers, 44, he said. No one would confirm the home towns of any of the victims. Veath said he did not know who was taken to the hospital, nor did he know the name of the fifth person involved.

“It was just a bad night to be on the roads,” he said.
