Lee Murdock to perform Friday in Ringwood
Submitted by McHenry County Conservation District
Sit back and enjoy a summer evening of musical entertainment with Lee Murdock from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 6 on the back patio of the Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Road in Ringwood. It is part of McHenry County Conservation District’s First Friday Concert series.
Join Murdock for a musical celebration of Ireland with songs from the Emerald Isle and the Irish-American immigrant experience. His musical influences span over five centuries, from ancient Celtic harp melodies to more contemporary American music. Be ready to join in a boisterous chorus of a famous Irish Pub song, share the sly joke in a humorous old ballad, hum along to a soft Irish air or vigorous tune.
Bring a picnic dinner or dessert and enjoy our intimate outdoor setting under the branches of ancient oaks with stunning views of the outstretched valley. In the case of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors. No glass containers are allowed.
Additional First Friday Concerts on Aug. 3 will feature Will Kreuger; Sept. 7 will feature Georgia Rae’s Family Bluegrass Band; and Oct. 5 will have Potts & Pans Steelband.
Registration is not required. For more information call Prairieview Education Center, (815) 479-5779 or visit www.MCCDistrict.org.
