ESCC senior stars play Friday at St. Viator

Three seniors who led St. Viator’s boys basketball team to one of its most successful seasons will get one more shot to play on their home court.

Kevin Walsh, D.J. Morris and Dan Forde will play for the East Suburban Catholic Conference in its annual senior all-star game against the Chicago Catholic League at 7 p.m. Friday at Cahill Gymnasium in Arlington Heights.

Walsh was the ESCC Most Valuable Player and a two-time Daily Herald All-Area pick as the Lions won their first outright and unbeaten conference title and second ESCC title in its history. They also set a single-season school record for victories as they finished 25-4 and reached the Class 4A sectional semifinals.

Morris was a two-time Daily Herald All-Area pick as the Lions’ point guard and Forde was one of Viator’s top defensive players.

Carmel’s Brandon Motzel will also play for the ESCC. Motzel was an all-conference pick and will play at Augustana.
