Closing Spectrum a political, not business, decision
A recent decision by Township Supervisor Mary Wroblewski and the board to close the Spectrum Teen Center by calling it a business decision confuses me. Some other recent decisions such as adding free dental service to adults costing thousands of dollars, only raises questions of buying votes through taxpayer funds knowing that teens cannot vote but the adults receiving free dental care can.
Other recent decisions such as outside party functions at Champps Sports Bar, Maggiano’s and Entourage Martini Bar, along with the continued free perk of life and health insurance to the board only raises questions of good business sense of public funds.
I believe in term limits and the mission that we all were elected to serve, not be served. Three terms of a total of 12 years is enough time to serve and make a difference, it is time for change for the good of the township and have others who want to serve have their opportunity. How much one puts into a political party should no longer allow them to be endorsed even when poor business practices and politics continue to be the priority over services and needs to our future which our teens of Schaumburg Township are.
