Schaumburg Park District presents 'Babes in Toyland'

Go on a journey through the worlds of Mother Goose Land and Toyland at the Community Recreation Center.

Schaumburg Park District's theater program will perform the classic tale, “Babes in Toyland.” Performances will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, and 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 27, at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road.

“The charming musical with new songs will delight audiences of all ages,” said Beth Waller, Schaumburg Park District cultural arts supervisor.

The story follows the villainous Barnaby who has fallen in love with sweet Mistress Mary Quite Contrary. Mary already has her heart set on marrying Barnaby's nephew, Alan. Barnaby tries to get rid of Alan, but Alan returns to Mother Goose Land. Mary journeys through the dangerous Spider Forest to the magical and mysterious Toyland where she meets the Master Toymaker. Barnaby still hasn't given up and he herds the whole gang of Mother Goose Land characters to Toyland in pursuit of Mary.

Tickets are $11 for adults (13 years and older) and $6 for children. Children under age 2 are free if held.
