Burlington Central downs Morris
Burlington Central jumped out to a 39-21 halftime lead and went on to defeat Morris 83-73 Wednesday in the third round of the Plano Christmas Classic.
The Rockets (7-5) will play Seneca at 12:30 p.m. today.
Ryan Ritchie poured in 27 points while Bryce Warner (15 points), Ray Nunnicutt (13 points), and Moter Deng (10 points) also contributed with double-digits for BC.
Loyola 60, Streamwood 57: The Sabres (2-10) carried a 2-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but were unable to hold on as they were defeated in the Wheeling Wildcat Hardwood Classic. Brandon Larkin-Guilfoyle and Joel Lightbourne each recorded double-digits with 21 and 17 points, respectively.
Westminster Christian 37, Harvard 32: Will Woodhouse scored 13 points to lead the Warriors (9-7) to a victory over Harvard at the E.C. Nichols Tournament at Marengo. Aaron Wiewil and Colin Brandon each chipped in 8 points.
Woodstock North 42, Westminster Christian 32: In their second game of the day, the Warriors (9-7) fell just short to Woodstock North. Will Woodhouse again led the Warriors in scoring with 11 points while Aaron Wiewil added 7 points in the loss.
Elmwood Park 75, St. Edward 52: The Green Wave (5-8) was unable to keep up with Elmwood Park’s high scoring offense as they suffered a loss in the Immaculate Conception Christmas Tournament. Eddie O’Halloran scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Wave while Adrian Ponce (14 points) and Doug Johnson (12 points) also recorded double-figures.
South Elgin 43, Palatine 31: The Storm (6-6) was able to pick up a victory at the York Jack Tosh Holiday Classic behind 13 points from Darius Wells. Jacob Maestranzi added 9 points while Eric Stazy and Kristopheroy Fojas chipped in 7 points a piece.
