St. Viator golf team owes many for its glory run

The past four years have resulted in the St. Viator golf team running the table with three State 3A championships and one runner up trophy.

None of this would have been possible without a ton of people supporting our program.

All the support we received from St. Viator High School, President Fr. Mick Egan CSV, Prinicipal Eileen Manno, Athletic Director Tim Carlson and all the teachers and staff was a primary reason for our accomplishments.

The Prospect Heights Park District, Old Orchard CC and their head professional Marc Heidkamp, the Arlington Heights Park District, Arlington Lakes GC and their head professional Jim Hoch, the Itasca Golf Learning Center and their owner Jay Nielsen, Joe Travaglio and the people at Inverness CC along with John Schickling at Rolling Green CC and Golfsmith in Schaumburg who was always a help with keeping us in gear all of these people could not have been more supportive.

One of the real highlights was the tremendous coverage of our run to glory by the Daily Herald. All of your sports staff from the guys taking the results over the phone to the great stories, especially those written by Bill Esbrook, are cherished memories. Their professionalism and support are most appreciated.

Obviously this was the best of times for myself, our assistant coaching staff and a ton of young golfers.

Thanks to one and all for being part of a championship run that was years in the making.
