Middle schools, Dundee-Crown join forces for outdoor jazz festival

Submitted by D300 Foundation

With spring just around the corner, the D300 Foundation is working with its partners to make this season something special for everyone.

On Thursday, March 22, at 7 p.m., Algonquin and Carpentersville middle schools will join up with Dundee-Crown High School for the first Foundry Jazz Festival.

This event will take place on the Otto property along the Fox River in downtown Carpentersville. Tom Roeser, owner of Otto Engineering has graciously donated the space for this musical event.

April showers may bring May flowers, but for the D300 Foundation it brings the 2012 annual Awards Celebration and the second annual “Cultural Arts on the Fox.” The foundation will host its ninth annual Awards Celebration on Monday, April 16, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Boulder Ridge Country Club in Lake in the Hills. The foundation will be recognizing the 2012-2013 Innovation Grant recipients, the Distinguished Educator nominees and will announce the winner of the Distinguished Educator of the Year award during this event.

Seating is limited; if you are interested in attending, call Mary Gross at (847) 426-1300 or visit the D300 Foundation website for ticket information.

On Thursday, April 26, the “Cultural Arts on the Fox” begins at 6 p.m. This celebration of the visual and performing arts will showcase all three District 300 high schools in all forms of art: visual, musical, theatrical, and vocal performances. This event is making its return to the historic Otto property in downtown Carpentersville. The artfully restored buildings at Otto Engineering offer a fitting setting for this special event.

Mark your calendar for the fourth annual D300 Foundation Golf Outing and Silent Auction Fundraiser on Monday, June 4 at the Boulder Ridge Country Club in Lake in the Hills.

It will start at 10 a.m. with check-in and an early lunch. Then join them for golf with your favorite foursome on the greens of this private club.

Cap off the day with dinner, drinks, entertainment and prizes as the foundation celebrates a year of excellence in education in District 300. All proceeds from this event will fund educational project grants in the District 300 schools.

If your business is interested in donating an item to the D300 Foundation raffle and or silent auction, contact Mary Gross at the Foundation (426) 426-1300.

Visit the D300 Foundation website at www.d300foundation.org for updates and event details as they become available.
