Your news Schaumburg Park District to hold triathlon, duathlon July 10

Be a part of the ultimate athletic experience by competing in the Schaumburg Park District’s annual Splash, Pedal, Dash Triathlon and Dash, Pedal, Dash Duathlon.

Both races will begin at 6:30 a.m., Sunday, July 10, at the Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way and end at Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane.

The triathlon consists of a 400-meter swim, 15-mile bike ride and 5K run, while the duathlon consists of a 15-mile bike ride sandwiched between two 5K runs. Both races are chip-timed events and feature a new course this year.

Multiple age divisions are available with the option of competing as an individual or as part of a team. Team entries are accepted for the triathlon only.

Registration deadline is 5 p.m., Friday, July 1. Cost is $48 for adults and $125 for teams for applications received before 5 p.m., June 17. Cost is $52/$140 for entries received after 5 p.m., June 17. No application will be accepted after the registration deadline. Fee includes a T-shirt. There is no race-day registration.

Check-in, body marking, chip assignment and pickup will begin at 5:15 a.m. There will be a pre-race briefing at 6 a.m., and the race will begin at 6:30 a.m.

All participants are required to complete an official race registration form. Forms are available at Schaumburg Park District facilities, online on parkfun.com, or call (847) 490-7015 to receive one by mail. Race forms must be turned in at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Online registration is also available on active.com.
