Run to Alexian Field set for May 21

The Schaumburg Park District’s annual Run to Alexian Field 5K will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday, May 21, in the Metra parking lot just outside the baseball stadium and return inside the ballpark 3.1 miles later.

Check-in and race-day registration will be held from 5:45 to 6:45 a.m., immediately followed by a pre-race briefing.

A cash prize will be awarded to the top male and female runners. Awards also will be given to the top two finishers in each age category for men and women. The first 250 runners will receive a T-shirt.

The chip-timed event will be held on a USATF certified course that begins and ends at the stadium, 1999 S. Springinsguth Road.

All participants are required to complete an official race registration form available at parkfun.com, all Schaumburg Park District facilities or by calling (847) 490-7015. Online registration is available at active.com.

The preregistration fee is $25 and required by 5 p.m. May 13. Otherwise, the race-day registration fee is $30.
