Wednesday's Fox Valley roundup

The Streamwood girls basketball team held a 45-43 lead entering the fourth quarter but couldn't sustain the advantage Wednesday night, falling to Riverside-Brookfield 60-57 in the first round of the Fenton Season's End Tournament.

Emma Schmidt led the Sabres (6-10) with 15 points. Michelle Tomczak added 14 and Jessica Cerda contributed 12.

Riverside-Brookfield is now 11-2 on the season.

ACC 46, Elgin Academy 37: Lauren Steimle led Elgin Academy (4-5) with 18 points in this nonconference loss to Aurora Central Catholic.
