Glenbard East

Coach: Scott Miller.

Last year: 28-4, 14-0, first in DuPage Valley Conference; beat Normal Community 57-50 in Class 4A third-place game.

Top players: Dante Bailey, sr., F; Pat Walsh, sr., G; Marvin Grant-Clark, jr., F; Tahron Harvey, jr., F; Brandon Havenga, jr., C; Mike Kjeldsen, jr., G; Yashua Trent, jr., G; Bryant Westbrooks, jr., C; Marcel Cooper, sr., F; Evan Peterson, sr., G.

Scouting report: The Rams are reloading after last year’s historic finish. Only one starter returns, but Bailey’s a good one. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 10.5 points last year and surged during the postseason run. Walsh was a key player off the bench and will add a perimeter touch. Grant-Clark had a great off-season and already is being looked at by colleges. A major piece of the puzzle is at point guard where the Rams must replace graduated four-year starter Zach Miller. Peterson and Trent look to fill the spot but others also can handle the ball. The Rams may not go 14-0 in the DVC for a third straight year, but they’ll be a title contender. “We just need to settle in our roles and we’ll be fine,” Miller said.
