Dist. 54 registration to start

Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 will hold kindergarten registration for the 2010-2011 school year on Feb. 24 from 9 to 11 a.m., 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at all elementary schools.

Parents should go to their neighborhood school, even if registering for a different school in the district. Only children whose fifth birthday falls on or before Sept. 1, 2010, are eligible to enroll. Parents should bring an official birth certificate (with the seal), a $50 check or money order and three forms of proof of residency in District 54.

One should be a current real estate tax bill, signed lease or the closing statement from the purchase of a home. The others may be a driver's license, utility bill, public aid card, voter registration card, home insurance certificate, automobile registration or city vehicle sticker receipt.
