Grayslake Central hosts candidate forum

Grayslake High School District 127 students and the Lake County League of Women Voters of Lake County and will host a forum for the 8th Congressional District, state Senate District 31 and state House District 62 races.

The forum will start at 6:30 p.m. at Grayslake Central High School, 400 N. Lake St., Grayslake. Participating in the congressional portion will be Democrat incumbent Melissa Bean and her challengers, Republican Joe Walsh and the Green Party's Bill Schuerer. Democrat incumbent Michael Bond will face GOP challenger Suzi Schmidt, chairwoman of the Lake County Board, for the state senate portion of the evening. In the state representative portion, Republican incumbent Sandy Cole and Democrat Richard Voltair will answer questions.

Grayslake honors and advanced placement government students will have an active role in the forum.
