Viator, Meadows savor senior night

Senior night was a winning night for the St. Viator and Rolling Meadows girls basketball teams, which both host regionals next week.

The Lions posted a 62-56 victory over visiting Resurrection on Wednesday as four-year varsity performers Susan Hohenadel (season-high 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals) and Mary Calov (season-high 17 points, 3 3-pointers, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 blocked shot) led the way.

Bridget Urbanus added 7 points for the Lions, who finished the regular season at 19-10.

In addition to Hohenadel, Calov and Urbanus, Meghan McGrath, Meghan Malone, Eileen Mazanek and Ronnie Mack also celebrated senior night and scored points.

• Rolling Meadows came away with a 37-31 triumph over Downers Grove North as junior Sara Shumaker led the Mustangs' offense with 11 points.

Kelly Adair (two 3-pointers) added 6 points while Maryclare Loughery and junior Madelynn Conlin each chipped in 5.

Adair, Loughery, Jacklyn Grummel and Rene Poellinetz celebrated Senior's Night.

North Shore Country Day 47, Christian Liberty 33: Christian Liberty's season came to an end with the Class 1A regional semifinal loss to the hosts.
