Dist. 54 seeks community members for committee

School District 54 is looking for community members who would be interested in serving on its Advisory Council for District Initiatives for a 3-year term beginning in the fall of 2013.

The Advisory Council for District Initiatives is a strategic planning committee which reviews new ideas that impact teaching and learning in District 54. Members provide guidance and mentoring to individuals or groups that present new instructional initiatives to the committee. Ideas are explored and developed at the meetings before they are presented to the school board for review.

ACDI is a district committee composed of individuals who represent one of the District 54 constituent groups — teachers, support staff, administrators, school board and the community.

ACDI is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. during the school year on the following dates at the Rafferty Administration Center, 524 E. Schaumburg Road, in Schaumburg: Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, Jan. 27, Feb. 24, March 17, April 21 and May 19.

Applications for ACDI membership are to be submitted by Monday, Sept. 30, to Sherry Douglas, board coordinator, at the Rafferty Administration Center, 524 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, Ill, 60194.
