Free fitness classes for donation in Schaumburg

Give something back this holiday season at Schaumburg Park District.

The district will hold free Fit to Give land and aqua fitness classes from Monday, Dec. 19 to Friday, Dec. 23, at the district’s fitness centers. Participants must bring a canned food item or an article of clothing to attend a Fitness Unlimited or Club 55 class free. Canned food items will be donated to the Schaumburg Food Pantry and clothing to the Salvation Army.

“This is a great opportunity to help others and take a break from shopping to work out during the holiday season,” said Schaumburg Park District fitness supervisor Jennie Bever.

The Fit to Give class schedule follows the fall Fitness Unlimited and Club 55 class schedules. Fitness Unlimited and Club 55 group classes offered build muscles, strengthen core and burn calories. With over 20 different classes, participants will find the class to meet their fitness needs. Fitness Unlimited classes are for ages 14 and up while Club 55 classes are for ages 55 and up.

Fitness centers are located at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road; Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way; and Schaumburg Tennis Plus, 1416 N. Payne Road.
