D211 needs LeFevre back on the board

I want to let you know that your failure to endorse Robert LeFevre for the District 211 school board is incorrect. My assumption is that your endorsements were made out of a procedure that asks the candidates a few questions and then concludes with a panel of Daily Herald employees making decisions.

In the case of Robert LeFevre, I would respectfully request a reconsideration of your procedure and your conclusions. I am at a loss for your failure to endorse him. I am curious to know if considered the fact that he has served our community for over 30 years? Did you analyze his incredible service on behalf of taxpayers for the last eight years as a 211 board member? Did you consider the high level of respect his co-board members have for him as he has served as president for the last six years?

Did you ask our current superintendent her favorable opinion of his outstanding leadership? How about prior superintendents who worked with him to build our strong community? Did you go to any single school within the largest school district in the state of Illinois and ask any single administrator, teacher, or support staff of their positive support for Robert LeFevre?

I am none of the above, but my logical question is to ask, how many parents of students who received a tremendous education in District 211 did you interview? I am fearful that you asked none. If you did not rely on the opinions from interested people who serve as co-board members, superintendents, administrators, educators, staff or parents, then I can only conclude that your endorsements for school board are irrelevant acts by employees of a newspaper that are not vested in my school district.
