Fecarotta fires back at township board
Recently the Schaumburg Township supervisor and board sent a letter to Neighbor Fencepost (April 23), trying to justify the decision of eliminating Spectrum as a good fiscal, responsible decision.
What they failed to also mention in the letter is the amount of positions created over their three terms — creating jobs along with replacing employees for political paybacks along with the expensive dining out at fine dining establishments for all the employees including themselves with the reason being “good for morale.”
The township employees are very hard working, some of their benefits include nine paid holidays, sick days and personal days off.
Last year we experienced the third worst recorded snowfall in a 24-hour period on a Tuesday. The next day, Wednesday, the township was closed due to snow conditions! On the Friday that followed, the township closed at noon so everyone could party at Champp’s Sports Bar.
This all happened the same week that township taxpayers were trying to file for review of their tax assessments. The township had to install a security glass in the office used to file the tax assessments after angry taxpayers were waiting so long!
Now that is another great example of fiscal responsibility, and they wonder why everyone is upset with township government!
