Teens will put computer science knowledge to the test at Schaumburg Library's Teen Hackathon
Schaumburg Township District Library is ready for four days of coding, programming and hacking for teens with the Teen Hackathon, June 27-30, 2023.
When the Hackathon kicks off at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, teens will be given a problem to solve. From there, they'll use their tech skills to create a project to solve that problem. Throughout the four-day event, teens can attend workshops and talk tech with other teens interested in computer science. All projects are due on Friday at the end of the competition, will be judged by a panel and prizes will be awarded.
Teens can work solo, with friends or with teens they meet at the Hackathon. Snacks will be provided and there will be space at the library to work, however teens are not required to be in the library for the entire Hackathon as projects can be submitted online. A limited supply of laptops and computers will be available for in-library use, so teens are encouraged to bring their own devices, if possible.
Teen Hackathon is happening Tuesday, June 27 through Friday, June 30, from 1 p.m. until the library closes each day. Visit SchaumburgLibrary.org/events or call (847) 985-4000 to register or to learn more.
This program takes place at Schaumburg Township District Library's Central Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, in Schaumburg.
