Water Street Naperville to host Harvest Holiday Drive-By Food & Toy Drive for West Suburban Community Pantry

Water Street Naperville will hold the Harvest Holiday Drive-By Food & Toy Drive on Saturday, Nov. 5, to support West Suburban Community Pantry which serves over 750 families each week from Naperville, Lisle, Woodridge, Bolingbrook, Westmont, Willowbrook and Romeoville.

The drive will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Foyo Plaza on Water Street between Main and Webster Streets in downtown Naperville.

Volunteers will take your donations by drive up so there is no need to park.

"The Pantry has put out an urgent call for help as the demand for support is surging just as the cost of food is skyrocketing," says Deb Newman, spokesperson for Water Street. "We love supporting anything that supports families in our area. This is a great chance to help parents, children and seniors struggle a bit less over the holidays. We think it's a great kickoff to the holiday season on Water Street."

Items needed include:

• New, unwrapped toys for infant to age 12;

• New, unwrapped books for infant to age 12;

• Diapers and baby wipes;

• Boxed potatoes;

• Canned or instant gravy;

• Canned cranberries or cranberry sauce;

• Canned vegetables or soups;

• Pumpkin, apple or cherry pie filling.

Donors to the Water Street Drive will get a preview of the annual NaperLights holiday lights on Water Street as volunteers from Naperville Sunrise Rotary will be setting up the holiday displays that day. Donations can also be dropped off at the Pantry at 6809 Hobson Valley Drive Unit 118, Woodridge, on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
