Maryville's second annual Stuff the Bus event now offers two drop-off locations
The 2nd Annual Stuff the Bus event, scheduled on Saturday, April 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., has added a second location to facilitate ease in drop-off for donors who live near the Maryville Crisis Nursery in Chicago.
The exact address of the second location is 6650 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago. Volunteers will be available to accept donations during those times.
Donors in the suburbs can drop off their donations at Maryville's Des Plaines campus located at 1150 N. River Road on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Stuff the Bus event will benefit Maryville Crisis Nursery.
"Donations that generous donors bring to the Stuff the Bus event will help fulfill the needs of so many children and families who are experiencing a crisis, or who are actively trying to avoid a crisis," said Tricia Fitzgerald, Maryville Crisis Nursery program director. "We are beyond grateful for the community's continued support of this annual event and of the Crisis Nursery's mission."

The community event is one of the activities scheduled by Maryville Crisis Nursery to celebrate April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The staff showed support on April 4 by wearing blue, the color of child abuse prevention, and a weeklong art exhibit with the theme, "Things that make me smile," was hosted on April 17-21. Several Maryville programs and community partners participated in the art exhibit.
The Crisis Nursery is one of 19 life-changing programs offered by Maryville in Arlington Heights, Bartlett, Berwyn, Chicago, Des Plaines and Niles. Founded in 2006, the Nursery is the first of its kind in Chicago. It offers free services to parents and families experiencing an emergency or a crisis such as homelessness, domestic violence, medical issues, job insecurity, economic hardship and parental stress. It is open year-round, 24/7 and offers a 24-hour Helpline, 773-205-3637.
