Three charged in monthslong McHenry County drug investigation
A two-month police investigation ended with the arrest of three men from Cary, Island Lake and McHenry and the seizure of more than $22,000 in drugs, authorities announced Friday.
The McHenry County sheriff's office narcotics task force executed search warrants the past three weeks after complaints of drug activity in several neighborhoods.
• The first search was Sept. 22 of a residence in the 3300 block of Southport Drive in Island Lake. They seized 50 grams of marijuana, LSD, ecstasy, Aderall pills, packaging material, scales, $258 and a motorcycle.
Matthew Pawelko, 18, was charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Officers executed a search Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of Georgetown Drive, Cary, seizing about 120 grams of marijuana, four cannabis sativa plants, packaging material, drug paraphernalia and $330.
James O'Hara, 19, was charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful production of cannabis sativa plants.
• Officers executed the last search Wednesday evening in the 800 block of Wildrose Lane, Cary, seizing 870 grams of marijuana, a scale, drug ledger, packaging material and $233.
Andrew Ramsey, 18, of McHenry, was charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
