Township of Schaumburg Helps Residents Save Money with Senior Freeze and Senior Exemptions
The Township of Schaumburg Assessor's Office is available to assist Township seniors with senior property tax exemption renewal forms. The forms are due February 6th, 2019. There are two senior tax exemptions available. Both exemptions must be signed yearly to receive savings on 2018 second installment tax bills.
The exemptions are:
• Senior Exemptions are available for residential property owners born in 1953 or earlier.
• Senior Tax Freeze Exemptions are available for residential property owners born in 1953 or earlier with a 2017 income of 65,000 or under. This threshold is higher than in previous years.
Township of Schaumburg Assessor, John R. Lawson says, "Senior residents can save money with these exemptions and must renew annually. Don't hesitate to stop in or call with questions."
