Schaumburg Library Invites All Ages To Get Creative in Workshop

A full listing of upcoming Workshop projects and opportunities is available in the Schaumburg Library's October-November Guide, which is mailed to Schaumburg Township residents and available online at www.SchaumburgLibrary.org. All take place on Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. and do not require registration or a fee.

Autumn Workshop projects will kick off with Book Crafts on Oct. 14. Come to meet authors at the Indie Author Day event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., then head to Workshop to make and decorate a book cover, journal cover or bookmark.

Get ready for Halloween with Halloween Rock Painting on Oct. 28. Rocks and paints will be available for creating Halloween and autumn-themed decorations.

On Nov. 4, use creativity and unwanted board games to make all kinds of unique items, from journals to ornaments and much more. Supplies will be provided, but anyone is welcome to bring an old board game.

Thanksgiving is the theme on Nov. 11, with supplies available to make a turkey centerpiece or a leaf garland. Basic instructions will be provided, but each person will use their own artistic skills and imagination to make one-of-a-kind Thanksgiving decorations.

All ages are invited to create a rustic acorn banner on Nov. 18, with a variety of autumn-hued papers and embellishments. Completed banners may be taken home and hung to add a seasonal, festive look to a home.

Love puzzles? Come to the Workshop to make DIY Puzzles on Nov. 25. Each person will receive their own blank puzzle to decorate and take home.
