Arlington Heights nonprofit to host 35th annual gala at the Four Seasons Chicago to benefit those with disabilities

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL - Clearbrook, an Arlington Heights-based nonprofit, is hosting its yearly gala at the elegant Four Seasons Hotel Chicago (120 E. Delaware Place). Their 35th Annual Shining Star Ball will take place on Friday, April 28, and is expected to draw more than 300 of Chicago's elite.

The Shining Star Ball started when a group of passionate people decided they wanted to throw a party with a purpose - to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live their fullest lives. This year, we are honoring the members of the Shining Star Ball Committee for their dedication to the Clearbrook mission and the impact they have had over the past 35 years.

The first ball was held in 1988 with 140 guests in attendance raising over $300,000. While much has changed since 1988, Clearbrook has been a consistent support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Over the years, this event has raised more than $30 million to support Clearbrook.

Proceeds from the Shining Star Ball will help underwrite Clearbrook's Mental Health Clinics, a collaborative Program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities served by Clearbrook. The program provides mental health support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are also diagnosed with mental illnesses. These services define Clearbrook's commitment to enriching the lives of people with disabilities. Benefits may be seen daily or over time as clients gain confidence and experience, reach new life skill levels, and become more independent.

"The Shining Star Ball has been Clearbrook's premiere fundraising event since its inception," said Clearbrook President Anthony Di Vittorio. "I look forward to seeing everyone come together again in honor of such a great cause-the people we serve. We truly rely on the funds raised from this event to provide the best for those entrusted to us."

The elegant evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner, a live auction including a private golf outing at Bunker Hill, fabulous trips to Tuscany and Belize, a group skybox suite at Wrigley to see the Cubs, and much more. There will also be live entertainment and dancing.

Tickets to the black-tie gala are $500; sponsorships are available. For more information, visit www.clearbrook.org/ssb.
