Elk Grove Leo Club Holds Annual Pet Food Drive
The Elk Grove Leo Club is currently holding its annual pet food drive to benefit the Almost Home Foundation. Donations of both cat and dog food and new unused cat and dog toys and treats can be made at collection boxes located at the Pavilion and at the Hattendorf Center in Elk Grove Village. The Leo Club is eagerly accepting donations at these two locations now through Sunday, Nov. 27.
Under the umbrella of the Elk Grove Lions Club, The Leo Club is a recognized community service group made up of students age 12-18. Now in its ninth year, the annual pet food drive is one of the club's cornerstone projects. Other events that the Leo Club supports are the annual Village tree lighting, Little Boots Rodeo, July 4th celebration, Hometown Parade and through various Lions Club initiatives like Candy Day, Kelly Miller Circus and Feed My Starving Children.
Becoming a member of the Leo Club is an excellent way for high school students to earn community service hours toward fulfillment of their Harper Promise program goal. The Elk Grove Leo Club meets the 2nd Sunday of each month at 10am at the Elk Grove Panera on Biesterfield Road.
