IDNR hosts free fishing day in McHenry Saturday

A free family fishing day sponsored by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will be held from noon to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at McHenry Dam, 1510 S. River Road (between routes 120 and 176) in McHenry.

Rods, hooks and bait will be provided. Instruction on how to fish will be provided, as will fileting of your catch. Blackhawk Dutch Oven Cooks will demonstrate how to make fish soup and fish chowder.
